Just Because You Could, Doesn’t Mean You Should.

Brand name.

Tastecard.

What is it?

Dining-out discount card.

What we can learn.

Sometimes, the little things are the big things. I love simplicity – you know that. Because ANGELFYSH builds online stores that smooth the path to purchase. With the Tastecard website, when users scroll through the restaurants on the mobile phones, the ‘back to top’ button only appears at the bottom of the page. And not (as technology allows) as-you-scroll. This removes any distraction from each and every restaurant ‘block’ – reinforcing the idea that each block is in-of-itself a call to action. Strangely, this is a functionality sacrifice. But for a damn good reason.

Upside.

It’s simpler. And simpler is always better.

Downside.

It could be argued that the user is forced to swipe, swipe, swipe back to the top of the page. But I’d argue that just because you could employ technology to do something, doesn’t mean you should. And therein lies a very big part of the ANGELFYSH ethos.

Did You Know?

Tastecard, established 2006, has thousands of restaurants across the UK and Ireland on its books and helps over 2,600,000 diners to eat out each year. Start small – but think big!
